Don't let go...

You deserve a simpler life. But I don't want it.

You deserve a simpler life Tonks,” Remus said, bowing his head. “A life without a fatal interruption every full moon. A life where you can have children, and a house, and find a man who has a job and hasn’t lost so much….a man who isn’t so broken.”

She watched him from the other side of the room. He stared down at the floor, his fingers scratching at the skin of his arm as if it was fur. It was a habit of his, and she knew that in another minute he would draw blood.
“Maybe,” she said softly, her eyes never leaving him. Before he could even flinch she added, her voice firm, “But I don’t want it.”

Lupin and Tonks taught me, that love can be found even in the darkest of situations.

Lupin story? I don’t know.

The curse had missed him by inches. It was his thoughts that Tonks was safe with Teddy keeping him going, giving him a reason to live. And well, if he didn’t, at least Teddy would still have one parent, no matter how clumsy.
The slight smile was wiped off his face when he saw the bright purple head of hair running towards him, screaming his name.
Desperately he rushed towards her, instinctively almost, reaching for her hand.
Inches from touching, he watched as the green curse flew towards the woman he loved. Screaming, he tried to shield her from it, but he was just too far away.
He could only watch as the green light hit. He watched the light leave her eyes, her body go limp.
He held her body tight to him. This could not be happening, it was as if all the happiness had gone from the world. But dementors were nowhere to be seen. It was just him and Nymphadora. His dead bride.
Even as Bellatrix walked over to him, he held her close. As she yelled the Killing curse, he still did not move.
And then it was black.

009. In his third year, Teddy got into a fight with a Slytherin boy.

The boy had made a snide comment about how his filthy werewolf father had deserved to die and Teddy, the boy who practiced his spells every weekend, forgot his wand completely and ran at the other boy, knocking him flat to the ground and hitting him hard in the face until a professor had to drag him away.

When Harry heard the news, he couldn’t help but smile. Perhaps Teddy was like his father after all. He would have fought, thought Harry to himself. He would have died for it, just like his parents.

006. For many years, Teddy carried around a deflated ballon in his pocket.

He had heard stories about his father from Harry, who told him about his first Defense against the Dark Arts lesson with Professor RJ Lupin. Sometimes, when he was scared or felt alone, Teddy would put his hand in his pocket and hold the little strip of rubber in between his fingers, as a reminder. It never failed to make him smile.

014. Every full moon, Teddy would stay up all night.

No matter the weather, he would lay out on the grass and stare up at the moon until it finally faded into the sun. Sometimes he would talk, telling the moon about his day as if talking to his father at the dinner table. When the sun rose, he would stand up and quietly go about his day. He never felt tired.

208) Teddy Lupin was slightly distraught at not becoming a prefect, for he knew his father had been one. “I’m sure you just lack certain qualities,” Harry told him, “like the ability to behave yourself.” Teddy was puzzled until Harry explained those were the words of his mother.

287) Portraits of those, who died fighting for good in the Second Wizarding War, are located all around Hogwarts. Teddy found his parents; Fred found his uncle; and once, while in the principal’s office, Albus found his namesakes.

420) Teddy took comfort in finding memories of his parents in Hogwarts castle. He found his father’s name in a list of Gryffindor Prefects, and found a countless number of his mother’s detention records.
